SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - September 28, 2004 - GoVideo® today announced the introduction of the GoVideo VR2940 DVD Recorder+VCR, the world's easiest to use DVD recorder combination product. The VR2940 includes GoVideo's renowned consumer-friendly feature set, plus integrated YesDVDT technology to enable consumers to easily turn their home movies into professionally-featured, Hollywood-style DVDs at the touch of a button. Archiving home video has never been easier.
GoVideo, the inventor of the world's first DVD+VCR Combo and Dual-Deck VCR, has partnered with YesVideoT, Inc. (www.yesvideo.com), the leader in automated digital authoring, to integrate YesVideo's YesDVD technology in the new VR2940. The embedded YesDVD feature of the VR2940 allows consumers to easily turn their digital or analog camcorder footage into high-quality, feature-laden DVDs, complete with onscreen disc menus, intelligently selected chapters with picture thumbnails, and music videos, all with one easy-to-use unit.
"With the new VR2940, consumers can copy their favorite VHS tapes to DVD, and the product will automatically create chapters, music videos, and other intelligent features," said Ed Brachocki, chief executive officer of GoVideo. "They can press one button and walk away. That's what consumers have come to expect from GoVideo."
With the introduction of GoVideo's VR2940, transferring home movies to DVD has never been easier. The VR2940 includes a convenient front panel DV input (1394 connection) and analog inputs, enabling easy connection of digital and analog camcorders for easy recording to DVD and playback on the TV. A smart, onscreen menu provides prompts for recording to DVD or creating a YesDVD, with just the click of the remote control.
The YesDVD feature of the VR2940 automatically creates up to 54 chapter scenes of the best images from the video source, and creates a disc menu for easy searching and viewing. A DVD cover with thumbnail images representing each scene can be printed by inserting the finished YesDVD disc into a Windows-based PC. YesDVDs also include music videos created from highlights of the video set to jazz, rock and classical tunes. Additionally, you can personalize your DVD disc and case with a custom title.
"As an integrated feature, YesDVD is the perfect complement for GoVideo customers who want the features that they see in Hollywood movies in their own home video, but who do not want to spend dozens of hours at a PC to get these special DVD effects," said Greg Ayres, chief operating officer for YesVideo. "Recognized for its advanced product features and innovations in consumer-friendly products, GoVideo continues to deliver on these promises with the new VR2940 DVD Recorder+VCR combo."
The new VR2940 also includes GoVideo's AutoPlayT feature, which automatically skips ads, trailers and menus, jumping right to the start of the movie, and GoVideo's YourDVDT feature, which allows consumers to store setup preferences to make playing DVDs easier. GoVideo's CleanCopyT feature improves the quality of VHS tape to DVD transfers, with automatic enhancement of picture and sound quality. Recording to both DVD+R and DVD+RW discs, the VR2940's versatile playback capability features progressive scan output and supports DVD-Video, DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW, Audio CDs, and MP3s and JPEGs on CD-R/RW.
